چکیده
Abstract Objectives Data on the consumption of macrolides, lincosamides and streptogramins (MLS) in community were collected from 30 EU/European Economic Area (EEA) countries over two decades. This article reviews temporal trends, seasonal variation, presence change-points changes composition main subgroups MLS. Methods For period 1997–2017, data MLS, i.e. ATC group J01F, aggregated at level active substance, using WHO ATC/DDD methodology (ATC/DDD index 2019). Consumption was expressed DDD per 1000 inhabitants day packages day. MLS analysed presented as compositional changes, a classification based mean plasma elimination half-life for macrolides. Results In 2017, varied by factor 13 between with highest (Greece) lowest (Sweden) consumption. did not change significantly up to 2003, after which it increased 2007. No significant observed showed high variation. The proportional long-acting macrolides time compared that intermediate-acting latter short-acting Conclusions during 2007–2017, while increased. Seasonal variation remained high, suggests are still prescribed inappropriately many countries.

Sales of macrolides, lincosamides, streptogramins, and amoxicillin/clavulanate in the in- and outpatient setting in 10 European countries, 2007–2010
Monitoring the use of antibiotics is relevant due to the public health impact of microbial resistance, adverse effects, and costs. We present data on the consumption of macrolides, lincosamides, streptogramins and amoxicillin/clavulanate (AMC) between 2007 and 2010 in the in-and outpatient healthcare setting in 10 European countries provided by IMS Health. Antibiotics were classified according ...

The lactococcal secondary multidrug transporter LmrP confers resistance to lincosamides, macrolides, streptogramins and tetracyclines.
The active efflux of toxic compounds by (multi)drug transporters is one of the mechanisms that bacteria have developed to resist cytotoxic drugs. The authors describe the role of the lactococcal secondary multidrug transporter LmrP in the resistance to a broad range of clinically important antibiotics. Cells expressing LmrP display an increased resistance to the lincosamide, streptogramin, tetr...
متن کاملDistribution of genes encoding resistance to macrolides, lincosamides, and streptogramins among staphylococci.
The relative frequency of 10 determinants of resistance to macrolides, lincosamides, and streptogramins was investigated by PCR in a series of 294 macrolide-, lincosamide-, and/or streptogramin-resistant clinical isolates of Staphylococcus aureus and coagulase-negative staphylococci isolated in 1995 from 32 French hospitals. Resistance was mainly due to the presence of ermA or ermC genes, which...
